Word Integration Drivers

Should you have recently installed or upgraded to Windows XP, and would like to setup Word Integration, you would need to ensure that you have this listed driver:

FoxPro Files - Word
Microsoft FoxPro VFP Driver (*.dbf)

You may have it installed automatically, but we have noticed that some Windows XP upgrades do not include this essential integration driver.

To verify, click on Start, then Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and then Data Sources (ODBC).  Look for the Foxpro Files - Word.  If it does not have this, then click on 'ADD' and see if you can find the Microsoft FoxPro VFP Driver.  You may need to log into your workstation as Administrator to view some of these details.

If it does not allow you to install this driver, then please go to this Microsoft website and download these two files:

"Download Windows Installer
Redistributable version 1.1 for Windows NT 4.0 (x86)

AND

VFPODBC.MSI (ENGLISH)

Once you have downloaded both files, run the Windows Installer, then run the VFPODBC.MSI file.  Remember to RUN BOTH files.

Go back to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources (ODBC) and it should now be there to 'ADD'.  Please ensure that you once again re-remove your Dbase drivers.  This procedure may re-add them.  Once you click on 'ADD', find the Microsoft Foxpro VFP driver, double click it and name it "Foxpro Files - Word, and the description would be the same (Foxpro Files - Word).

Click here to download the files:
