Zycomp Systems Limited would like to re-introduce the Scanning Feature for
Power Broker 3.0 Build 23.
There have been many changes to this Power Broker feature that will enhance the functionality to it's fullest potential!
Changes that take effect on Build 23 have been:

1) 16
to 32 bit application option
2) Optional file type/size (.jpg, .tif, .bmp)
3) Stronger Scanning Sources to eliminate
freezing workstation |
Quick review of how to implement this procedure:
1) Download and install the most recent version of Power Broker (Sept 23)
2) In Utilities, Define your Company Information, EDI Misc Options, change
the "Acquire Scanned Images" to "P"

For the integration between Power Broker and the Scanner, you will need to set up a directory (eg. Images) on either your network drive or local workstation and provide this information in Power Broker under Utilities – Define Your Company Information – Software Directories. This is where all of the scanned images will be
saved.
4) Download either:
TWAINOCR.EXE for Windows 95/98
TWAINXP.EXE
for Windows NT/2000/ME/XP
5) Launch and install one of these files depending on the scanning
computers operating system and allow it to install in the installation's default
location:
TWAINOCR.EXE=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
TWAINXP.EXE=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
6) Launch Power Broker and say "Y" to the "Convert 3.0 file to 6.0"
then browse to a customer/policy screen.
In the customer screen, click on the camera picture and choose the first empty
box, then click "Scan Image". Once scanned, the image path will be
displayed unless it is a bitmap. To view this image, select the link, and
click on "View Image".
In the policy screen, click on the scanning button. This procedure will
ask you a series of questions. Once you have completed the scanning
procedure, open the customers Abeyance screen, and click on the Images Tab
located at the top of the Abeyance screen.

The scanning feature in Power Broker allows the user to scan in documents and photos and save to the customers’ policy.
It allows for unlimited number of scans per policy.
You can scan photo’s, appraisals, legal documents, letters, etc. subject to a maximum size of 8.5”x11”.
The one time cost is $500.00 plus tax.
The system requirement for the scanner requires the unit to be ‘Twain’ compatible.
One unit we have used is the HP5100C Flat Bed Scanner.
To install the scanning software, follow the installation instructions provided by manufacturer.
It is recommended that you have a large amount of storage space available as images use up
disk space!
From the policy screens you have two areas to scan from - the ‘Scanning’ button at the top of the screen plus any screens that contain the ‘Camera icon’. The two options are:
The scanning function at the top of the screen allows unlimited number of scans per policy. After scanning in a document, to view or print this you go to the Abeyance/Doc screen, find the saved image from either Abeyances or from Images, select the image and choose view. This opens up the image and then allows you to view or
print.
The camera icon allows you to scan in four images on each screen that has the camera icon available. Eg. In the Auto screen you can scan 4 images under the policy screen, Drivers and Vehicles for a total of 12 images.
After you have scanned the image, you can view them all at once on screen by selecting the camera icon again. You can zoom in the view or print by selecting the image box.
To delete images from under the Camera icon, select the image you wish to delete, and proceed with deleting. To delete from the Abeyance screen you must have the Security set up
that allows you to Edit/Delete in order to do this function.
