Printing from Different Trays

  An alternative way of setting up trays for different print options would be to add the same printer over again but this time change the tray it uses and the name to differentiate between the different printer trays.

Re-add your printer but this time change the default tray to the lower tray and call it something different than the first printer you added.

In this example, we would like to setup a tray to print default white paper, another tray for envelopes, and another for cheques but only from one printer.  You would begin by adding a new printer and name it accordingly using an obvious description to help you differentiate between printers:

Printer 1)
Name = HP4000A  -  Description = Default White Paper

Printer 2)
Name = HP4000B  -  Description = Envelopes

Printer 3)
Name = HP4000C  -  Description = Cheques

When a user needs to print either a letter, envelope, or a cheque, the print box will open and will automatically be set to the default/white paper printer.  You would now click on the drop down arrow and choose any one of the alternate printer options that will print to the alternate trays.

Envelope Settings

Envelopes can be set choosing Start, Settings, Printers, right clicking over the printer that has the details differentiating that it's the envelope printer, and choosing Properties.

You would then click on 'Effects' and choose settings that would match this screen capture.  Every printer will be different so trying different things will need to be done to set this up properly.

Recent tests have shown that the center envelope would be the one to choose but again, every printer will be different so you may need to try different options.
