Do you own an IPHONE?
If you do, did you know that you can use your IPHONE to review customer
and policy details, record any changes made, as well as many other Power
Broker features at your fingertips from anywhere in the world?
Even the best integrations have their limits of use, so with this
integration, I wouldn't want to sit all day an work in Power Broker this
way, but if I were on the road and I forgot the address of a customer I
was on my way too, or if I needed an application or picture from the
system at the office to be emailed to me, I'd be able too do it this
way.
The basic steps would be to connect your IPHONE to the computer that has
Itunes for your IPHONE, go to the ITUNES store and purchase a software
called Logmein Ignition. It's about $40.00 in Canadian funds.
Once Logmein Ignition is downloaded, you can transfer it to your IPHONE
through ITUNES.

Once IGNITION is on your IPHONE, it'll have an icon on your desktop that
looks like this:

On the computer you want to connect to Power Broker and/or your Outlook
mail, fist go to
www.logmein.com, and
click on 'Create New Account' , select Remote Desktop Free, and then
answer the few questions to setup a new account, and then install the
software. Once installed, close that all out, and go back to your
IPHONE, and click the IPHONE icon on your phone.
A login screen will open.
Type in the email address you just used to setup your account, as well
as the Logmein Password. Click 'Log Me In'.

If you've already added a few more computers to your free account, it'll
look something like this.
In this case, we will be connecting to KEITHV-PC.

On the next screen, it asks for the Windows Username and Password of the
workstation, as well as the Domain info of this computer.

Once you type that all in, twist your phone sideways, and then use the
magnify icon in the phone to zoom in.
The mouse is stationary to the middle of the screen.

When you zoom in, it look like this.

Place your finger on the IPHONE screen and slide the desktop under the
mouse.

Double Click on the IPHONE screen.
Power Broker will pop up. In the IPHONE tray, click on the
Keyboard icon, type in your Power Broker password, and click'Return'.

Once you log in, you should be able to navigate around the screens much
like you would if you were on your desktop pc.
In this test, we click on 'Customers' on the left, and then click on
'Search with name contains'.
We called up the keyboard, typed in a name, and hit 'Return'.

It then found all the choices, in which with double clicked on the
IPHONE screen just over the last item in our search.

It then brought us into the customer screen.

We then clicked on Policies.

It's at this stage you can type, create a new app, make notes or just
about anything by calling up the keyboard.
As you can see, it navigates just like a real computer.
The other huge advantage is that you don't have to use this just for
Power Broker.
Since you are connecting to your desktop, you can use it to review your
mail, look at a quote from your quoting software, do a PowerTools, or
even do server/workstation shut downs.
Sample View of Email:

As you can see, this gives you unlimited access to your Power Broker
data from your hotel room, business dinner, cottage, your car, or
anywhere in the world.
I hope you enjoyed this tech tip.
