Mastercom's new version of the BrokerEDI/PC E-Mail/EDI Engine
(5.3) supports the Virtual
Private Networking (VPN) that Insurance Information Centre of Canada (IICC) will
be offering the industry as an enhancement to the current CSIOnet service.
This Network will be known as InsureNet and will be transparent to the current
CSIOnet membership. Brokers willing to embrace the new network will
benefit from enhanced services and reduction in cost. Registration for
this network is done through the IICC/CSIO registration desk.
FACT
2) For this VPN support, the BrokerEDI/PC E-Mail/EDI Engine must be run from a:
Windows 2000 Workstation/Server
or
Windows XP Professional (Windows XP Home is not supported)
However since the BrokerEDI/PC E-Mail/EDI
Engine software is installed on the same server as Power Broker, that server's
operating system can be any version of 32 bit Windows.
3) When setting up your Windows 2000 VPN connection, please ensure that you set
your VPN connection in the Windows VPN Properties to disconnect after a few
minutes or so. If you stay logged onto the server for a long period of
time, it's likely that you will get a large invoice for time spent on the server
at the end of the month.
