Installing the NetScreen Remote VPN Client for CSIO connections

 

1) Goto http://www.csio.com/en/about/sftw.html and download both files there and save them. You will also need the winrar program to unpack the download 2 file. If you require this program, a trial version can be obtained at http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm.

2) Goto the location you downloaded these files and run the NetScreen-Remote_VPN_Client_9.0r3.exe

Once it loads, you should see the following screen.

3) Click next to proceed to the next screen, it will come up with the following screen shortly 

4) Click next to continue with the installation, and click yes on the next screen with the license agreement.

5) You will be prompted for your setup type, leave it on typical, and if required, you can install this to a different location by clicking the browse button and selecting a new folder to install this to. If you do not require this, click next.

6)The setup will verify everything you have selected and if this is ok, you can click next to continue the installation or back to goto the previous screen to correct this.

7) Once you had clicked next, the installation will begin, during this time, connections to the server may be briefly lost. Once the installation is complete, you will be asked if you wish to reboot now. Click No, I will restart my computer later, and click finish.

8) Now goto the start menu, All Programs, NetScreen Remote folder and click on Security Policy Editor. You will get the following screen.

9) You will want to click the file menu in the top left and select the import security policy. You will be asked to locate the CSIO_locked_Policy.spd file which is in the CSIO_locked_policy.rar file you downloaded in step one. Once you have selected it, you will get the following screen. Click Ok on the policy import window.

 

10) You will receive the message saying the file has been successfully imported. You can click ok on this message, then you can exit the Security Policy Editor window by either clicking the X in the top right, or going to the file menu and selecting exit.

 

The installation is now complete; all that is required is to reboot the machine you have loaded the VPN client on.

 

Using the NetScreen Remote VPN client.

 

1) After rebooting the machine the VPN client has been loaded on, you will see a small square icon with a blue leaf on it in the system tray.

            

2) Right clicking this icon will bring up a menu where you can select connect, and you will see My Connections\CSIONET. Once you click on this, it will connect the VPN and you are free to do your daily download (batch transmission).

3) Once complete, you can click the Disconnect option and select the CSIONET connection to disconnect it.
